Four letter word!!!!

Four letter word!!! Four letter word!!! Four letter word!!!

Hats off to the team from Clarke County. That was the most fire I've seen in a Richt-coached team. Ever. Richt is a guy who exudes milktoast. While I liked the idea of taking the 15-yard team celebration after the first TD, I thought that it might create a situation that the players could not handle and all of the subsequent penalties seemed to confirm that. What I saw tonight was what I saw when I was in Gainesville in early September to watch the Troy game. UF's secondary can't cover. And UF's safeties can't tackle. I've seen 9-year-olds take better angles.

I'm not going to make excuses about injured Gators costing us this game because on offense, I still think we have enough weapons to win just about any game. And I think we had enough to win this game. I knew the game was lost after 2 plays. A drop by Cornelius Ingram in the second half (on the first ball thrown to him) and a catch by a Georgia TE on a key 4th quarter drive. Over the last 18 years -- especially in the 2000s -- this game has been epitomized by Georgia WRs and TEs dropping the easiest of passes. Not tonight. They even caught somewhat difficult passes.

And yet again, I witnessed UF's in ability to run a hurry up offense. In this game, I got the opportunity to watch it twice -- at the end of both halves. Lucky me! I don't like it when the check at the line occurs at the sideline. I cannot tell you how many times I have screamed at the TV or into a throw pillow when Tebow and Co. turn -- in unison -- to look at the sideline for the new play. You can't run a hurry up offense when the team looks to the sideline for the audible.
And what coach, not named Mumme, thinks an inside reverse is the best play for a 4th and 2 call late in the game? The answer to that question is Mullen -- Dan Mullen, UF's offensive coordinator. Brain fart is too kind.

15 of 18 is no relief on this evening -- even if it is true. If there is anything good that could come from this result -- and that's a big IF -- it's that it may quiet all the chatter from the Bulldogs about how this game shouldn't be played in Jacksonville. Fairly certain that's not the topic of conversation as the red and black fans celebrate at The Landing tonight.

Notice the extreme amount of respect for you, Bill Pinto. Not a one dawg is saying anything that we want to. Well behaved dawgs. That's what we are.

Yep. Great game all around. And Mark Richt may exude milquetoast, but Urban Meyer exudes maniac. That dude looked like he was gonna kill somebody when he was getting the Gaytors fired up after the opening mosh pit. And that RB who fumbled on the opening drive may be literally in a swamp somewhere, by Meyer's own hand.

I think this may be my favorite post title and post beginning of all time.

Good call Annie. I learned my lesson about rubbing in stuff after the Auburn 05 game where I was talking smack the whole game to Ashley Ward via nextel. (go figure) At the end of the game, I was silent with my phone off. Then after the 05 Sugar Bowl, Then the Tennessee game in 06. So I try to stay silent to the losers after we get a W.

The magnanimity is overwhelming.

The RB, Kestahn Moore, is way in the dog house. Too much fumbling in key games. Been there too long to be making the mistakes he continues to make. He will be lucky to play any significant minutes the rest of the season. Juxtaposed with Moreno's stellar performance, it makes it all the more frustrating to watch Moore choke time and time again.

Regarding Meyer's reaction after the mandated violation of the rules, I think anyone watching the game understood what message Richt was trying to send with the celebration. I would've been just as animated with my players after a stunt like that. If that makes him and/or me a maniac, so be it. I've been called worse, and I suspect Meyer's been called worse. I think a coach with any heart would've done the same thing. He had to respond with the same level of intensity.

The only way we get to Atlanta now is if we get invited to the bowl formerly known as the Peach Bowl.

FOUR LETTER WORD!!!!

Bill. Relax, baby. The Dawgs beat the Gators yesterday to make it 3 out of the last 18. Whoopity doo.

And I didn't call Meyer a maniac. I just said he looked like one. And he did. I just watched the replay again.

I also hope he didn't ruin Tebow's shoulder by keeping him in the whole game.

I have to work this out before I can move on. I am close. If my office is redecorated when I arrive in the morning, it will take a little longer to move on.

On the brighter side, Manchester United destroyed Middlesboro yesterday 4-1, and it looks like the Red Sox will win the series.

Best of all, we had several people come to the Lord over the Alpha Weekend!

Who planned Alpha weekend on top of GA/FL? Probably a AU fan. TOM TANNER.

The fall semester of Alpha always ends up with the Weekend falling on the Fla-Ga game weekend. Trust me, Tom has nothing to do with it. We start the semester the first Wednesday after Labor Day. The way the course falls, the Weekend sessions fall right in that weekend on the football schedule. If we started later in September, we'd run into Thanksgiving week. No go.

Tivo allows me to watch the game from the beginning without knowing what's already occurred as long as David Eldridge doesn't blurt out the score at the end of the first quarter while we're cleaning up the church.

You mean cleaning up the parking lot. That fire was FREAKY! I was standing in the hall talking to you and you bolted out the door. I turn to see why and a Z-71 was on FIRE! I'm still not over it. Well handled, crisis manager. I suspect a cheese pita.

I know a lady who went to the ballet Saturday afternoon with an earpiece in to listen to the game while taking in the ballet. Football is kind of like ballet. Except less graceful. And much more violent.

Bill you could have gone to Alpha weekend the UGA/UF weekend for the last 18 years and it not have mattered but for only 3.

I think that was part of the reason that Greg Norris and I didn't care that the weekend fell on this weekend. It generally doesn't matter. Except this freakin' year.

Moving on now.

Not to drag this on, but what the heck is milquetoast?

ManUtd17 said...

Milquetoast: a very timid, unassertive, spineless person, esp. one who is easily dominated or intimidated.

An indication of the effect on the English language of popular culture is the adoption of names from the comic strips as English words. Casper Milquetoast, created by Harold Webster in 1924, was a timid and retiring man named for a timid food. The first instance of milquetoast as a common noun is found in the mid-1930s. Milquetoast thus joins the ranks of other such words, including sad sack, from a blundering army private invented by George Baker in 1942, and Wimpy, from J. Wellington Wimpy in the Popeye comic strip, which became a trade name for a hamburger. If we look to a related form of popular culture, the animated cartoon, we must of course acknowledge Mickey Mouse, which has become a slang term for something that is easy, insignificant, small-time, worthless, or petty.

Wow, after reading that definition of milquetoast, I am downright pissed that you even used it and Mark Richt in the same sentence.

Spineless? Jeez.
